(Durham, NC) – Maynard Allison’s biggest concern going into his January 30th fight was getting something to eat. “Man, I have been starving myself for weeks, and I am hungry!”
Unfortunately for Brandon Ruffin, Maynard Allison was looking for a “Rib Sandwich.” Better put, Maynard Allison wanted to do some serious body work on Ruffin’s skinny midsection. Allison delivered with a grueling body attack, and feasted off Brandon Ruffin scoring a first Rd KO win.
Improving to 3-0 (2 KO’s), Mayanard Allison used deft footwork and head movement to get inside of his opponent’s guard to land some vicious body shots. After landing a looping hook and moving in low to the body, Allison pinned Ruffin on the ropes where he landed four quick body shots that dropped Ruffin to the ground. Ruffin crawled around, but he got up at the count of eight.
Like a seasoned boxer, Maynard Allison did not jump right in for the kill. He used lateral movement and extreme quickness to get inside of Ruffin, and this time landed two wicked body shots that dropped the helpless Ruffin to the canvas.
Referee, Wayne Spinola, jumped in and stopped the fight giving the super talented Maynard Allison his third victory and second KO of his young career.
Maynard would say in his post fight interview, “I was hungry, so I feasted on a Rib Sandwich! I wanted it right now, so I took it. I love a rib sandwich.”
After his successful night in Durham, NC, Allison will get right back in the ring February 27th, 2016 at the Dorten Arena in Raleigh, NC. This time, undefeated Maynard Allison faces a tougher foe in Braulio Hernandez.
