New York, NY (February 7) – Jo-El Caudle, who is argued to be North Carolina’s top Heavyweight boxer, will face one of Dibella Entertainment’s newly signed Heavyweight prospects in Stephan Shaw. The fight will take place on Lou DiBella’s wildly popular Broadway Boxing Series card tonight (Feb 7) at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City’s Times Square.
Caudle 7-1-1 (5 KO’s) is going into the lion’s den to face Shaw. Caudle is no stranger to fighting on the road. After turning from MMA to boxing, Caudle began his pro boxing career with seven impressive wins in North Carolina. Five of those seven wins were impressive KO’s catapulting Caudle to the top of the North Carolina rankings.
Caudle forged a relationship with Peltz Boxing and has begun to face tougher challenges. Caudle’s last two fights have been in Philadelphia against undefeated Colby Madison of Maryland and veteran big man Joe Hanks of New Jersey. While Caudle has proven to be a very tough out, he is winless outside of North Carolina fighting to a draw with Madison and UD loss to Hanks.
Caudle, listed at five feet ten inches tall and two hundred sixty-five pounds, has the opportunity to elevate his prospect status with a win over Shaw.
Shaw 9-0 (6 KO’s), who has sparred with and held his own against Deontay Wilder, recently signed a promotional contract with Lou Dibella and Dibella Entertainment. Shaw is a highly touted prospect with a strong amateur background that includes 2013 PAL and USA National Championships titles. A graduate of Hazelwood Central High School in Florissant, Missouri, Shaw gravitated to the sport at a young age coming from a family of boxers. He trains with four-time Olympic Boxing coach Basheer Abdullah out of Arena Gym in San Diego, California. Abdullah was a family friend and has known Stephan for his entire life, having grown up with his parents. Stephan’s grandfather, Buddy Shaw, was a renowned trainer in Missouri and acted as a mentor to Abdullah.
Caudle might be small in stature for a Heavyweight, but when it comes to accepting challenges, he is big and full of courage and confidence. Caudle is in a real uphill battle fighting a Dibella fighter on a Dibella Broadway Boxing card, but a win in any fashion against DiBella’s Shaw will elevate Caudle’s career.
